The Secret of the Nagas is the sequel, written by Amish Tripathi, to the famous book of 2010, The Immortals of Meluha. The second book in the famous Shiva Trilogy is The Secret of the Nagas and has just been published in 2011. This second book, The Secret of the Nagas picks up from where The Immortals of Meluha ended, and immediately takes the reader on a roller coaster ride within its first few chapters. At the end of the first book, we saw the sinister Naga warrior trying to abduct Princess Sati. The book starts of on that note and slowly builds up steam.
In an attempt to bring peace in both Meluha and Swadeep, Shiva and his band of followers travel to the holy city of Kashi. The reader is kept guessing at every stage thanks mainly to the many twists and turns in the unique plot. It is here that Sati becomes a mother and soon after seeing his son, Shiva travels to the land of Banga in a final attempt to solve the mystery of the Nagas.
Shiva finally learns The Secret of the Nagas after an epic battle with a mystery bandit and is astounded by what he discovers. Back in the city of Kashi, there is a surprise in store for Sati when she discovers some hidden facets of her past. With such twists and turns, the reader is left wondering about what the final outcome will be.
While the first book was set in the land of Meluha, major events in this second book happen in the land of Swadeep while the pulsating climax is set in the Dandak forests down south of India. We are introduced to many new characters in this particular who play an important role in the overall plot. This book ends with a twist and sets up an exciting finale with the final part, The Oath of the Vayuputras.
The Secret of the Nagas is truly and deservedly one of the best books of the year and is now available at every major bookstore and one can easily buy it from there.
