Iron man 2 movie is the second part of the iron man trilogy. The sequel has got the original caste intact except for the villain Ivan vanko who seems to be more powerful and dangerous. This is evident from the stunts sequences involving him and iron man. This much expected movie was released on May 7th following the reception of the first part.
The film starts with Robert Downey Jr who plays Tony stark revealing to the world that he is iron man the one man army which saves the world. After this the U.S government is after him trying to get the formulas for his technology which he refuses with great charm. At the same time Ivan vanko casted by Mickey rourke builds a bigger and more powerful robot like iron man to destroy and take revenge against stark.
Another interesting character which appears new in this sequel is the role of Natalie Rushman which is enacted by the curvaceous Scarlett Johansson. Miss pepper Potts is now been made as the CEO of the stark industries by stark and her position is taken up by Natalie. Stark is slowly being poisoned by palladium from the arc reactor and is expecting his death, although Tony stark deals the situation with his usual charm and wittiness.
Thus he heads on to Monaco grand prix where whiplash gives his entry. At this point stark counteracts the attack with his portable iron man suit which fits him automatically which is done with mind blowing graphics. Thus Ivan is nearly defeated and stark comes to know that Ivan is his dad’s old partner who had collaborated to create the arc reactor. Due to unexpected circumstances he gets deported to Russia where he dies of poverty.
Stark’s health worsens by each day and he plans to celebrate his last birthday wildly and hence gets drunk in his iron man armour causing havoc. Lieutenant Rhodes thus comes into the picture and gets hold of the iron man 2 armour. He nearly destroys Stark’s house and gives the armour to the U.S military. After this the movie catches up speed and stark learns that Natalie was actually and undercover agent and his father was the founder of S.H.E.I.L.D.
The remaining story is about how stark defeats Ivan and the army of automated robots and also how he gets cured from the poisoning. This second part is filled with more stunts compared to the first one and also the villain is shown as more dangerous and powerful than ironman hence the suspense builds up on how iron man would destroy him.
The movie has got quite a good response compared to the previous one. The critics feel that less importance is given to stark than the previous one and the chemistry is missing between Gwyneth Paltrow and him.
