Holidays provide the perfect opportunity to get away for a while, forget about work and just relax. It is a great way to recharge the batteries and sit in the sun for a while with a cold drink, some music and a good book. Choosing the right books is obviously important then and there are plenty of good new books to consider for this year and of course there are some fantastic older ones which everyone should read at some point.
One set of books to consider is the Harry Potter series. Although they were originally intended for younger people they have become a worldwide sensation with people of all ages becoming huge fans. The lengthy series will provide you with plenty of reading material for even a two week trip and you will very quickly get caught up in them. Millions of Harry Potter books have been sold and for very good reason, a holiday provides a great opportunity to see what all the fuss is about.
If you don’t think the Harry Potter novels will be your thing then Stieg Larsson’s Millennium trilogy is another series which has suddenly become huge. The three books have had such popularity that they have already been turned into films and those films are already being remade with much larger budgets. Before seeing the big screen versions why not experience the originals that made the series so popular.
If you aren’t really the type to get wrapped up in fiction for hours on end then perhaps the Exclusive Biography of Steve jobs is more your thing? Jobs revolutionised the way we communicate, shop, travel and many other things too but his story wasn’t one of constant success. This biography gives an in depth look at Jobs’ unusual personality and his untimely death.
If you’re looking for something completely different you might want to consider what has been called one of the most important books of the 20th century? Jack Kerouac’s On the Road is a masterpiece detailing multiple road trips across America which were fuelled by poetry, jazz, drugs or a combination of all three.
For cheap holidays Sharm el Sheikh, look no further.

Reading digital/Ebooks on Kindle or iPad is the biggest thing since the invention of the printing press. Or is it? The relatively new phenomena of eBooks and the success of electronic reading devices such as Amazon’s Kindle are throwing the world of publishing and reading into a whole new age of controversy and turmoil. But the majority of readers still seem to prefer reading the old fashioned way – so far.
The first commercial e-reader became available at retail in 2007. Since then, the primary version (the Amazon Kindle) has undergone revision and improvement, and many other manufacturers have decided to try their hand in the e-reader market place. Initially, the device was touted as an innovation and logical evolution of the traditional print based book. The added intent (beyond convenience) of an all-digital text platform would be that it reduces waste, production costs and time, transportation and delivery costs, and cuts down on cutting down trees. Many advocates would quickly state that a digital reader and all digital books are the perfect union of the time honored traditions of literature and the digital evolution consumers are experiencing in other facets of everyday life.
Here is a quick comparison of traditional printed books and digital books -
EBooks are perfect for traveling; real books are a burden Multiple EBooks can be carried at all times in one reader; want multiple real books with you at all times? Bring a suitcase. Regular books don’t include a keyboard and dictionary
Regular books don’t require a battery or charging time Regular books are plentiful and don’t require Wi-Fi or a computer in order for you to attain and read them Regular books are real and tactile – something for which there is no substitute
All things evolve and the same course of invention, refining, and reintroduction will occur with eBooks over time and as more users adopt them. The universal issue, or complaint about eBooks and digital readers is the difference in tactile feel – an e-reader is flat, slim, sleek, lightweight and small. It is essentially a small computer screen. There are no pages to physically flip, no dust jacket to protect the cover, no spine to crack and no weight to rest in your lap or on your chest. Today, eBooks look like conventional book pages but are displayed on a digital screen, if there were a way to mimic the feel of an actual book with bound paper pages and a spine, but still maintain all of the features and advantages of eBooks and digital readers, a hybrid of both, then a true evolutionary leap will have been achieved.
EBooks and digital reading devices are still in their infancy, although the benefits they already pose cannot be denied. But for the time being, real paper pages instead of digital downloads are still the preferred method of delivery when it comes to literature, but the future of both will continue to be intertwined and the possibilities for a continued, combined evolution of both formats is intriguing.

The fun both you and your child have simply by reading together is substantial. The time you spend sitting side by side reading, talking and laughing is precious. It creates a fantastic bond between the two of you and is a magnificent means to enhance your childrens emotional, societal and brain growth.
Bringing up a young family is definitely a roller coaster but completely satisfying. The pleasure of observing your children growing and understanding more each day is constant. There is no better time spent with your children than reading books. They enjoy the stories and absorb so many good learning habits.
There is an increasing amount of support building up to demonstrate that reading with your kids from a young age is extremely positive. You are helping their brain to develop more and more neural connections, which are the beginning of the fast track for them. Here are a few helpful points to make it easier to reach the best alternative.
Almost all kids books will have a suggested age with it. This is intended to guide you as mothers and fathers to both choose books and also keep an eye on your childs development. Remember not to fall into the trap of choosing books that are too difficult and confuse your children. The most suitable plan is to begin simply and build up from there.
That is a fantastic initial step and starts you off the right way. For young children books with bright colourful pictures are always popular leading onto writing and reading books. It is very useful to start with a series of books so knowledge gets going in a structured way. It is effortless to go all the way through the series as each individual book is read.
Youngsters like delight and excitement in everything they do including reading. So choose books that look visually attractive together with having a good story. For babies and toddlers engaging books are an easy starting point. With buttons to push for noises and textiles for different textures they delight the growing mind.
Road trips can be challenging with children. With books to read they are a lot less so especially when mixed with the pleasure of maxi cosi car seats. You need books that are not too weighty for car trips so their arms do not ache. Include some colouring books also for variety. When they want a sleep the maxi cosi tobi car seat is comfortable and adjustable.
If you are not lucky enough to have a automobile with fold down trays for your youngsters to use try and buy a portable one. You can get many colouring sets that are fastened over the front seat and unzip to make a tray to lean on for reading and colouring.
As your child grows older you need to keep up with their reading abilities. They will start to really devour books and this is where a series of books is a big help. They love reading stories with characters they know in various adventures or scrapes. When they begin to get bored with the series you know it is time to move on to a higher age range.
You never waste your time reading with children. They will remember it for the rest of their lives. You will know you gave them the best start possible.
Most people will get assistance with your accounting wants from accountants in Exmouth. Grab a positive smile choosing Exmouth dentist.

I don’t know about you, but I did shed a tear when the world of Harry Potter came to an end earlier this year. The thought of knowing that I will never get the chance to read a brand new instalment of the latest adventures of Harry, Ron and Hermione and their quest to defeat Voldemort brought great sadness to my heart.
In June 1997, the world of children’s writing took a colossal turn for the better when the first of J K Rowling’s books was released. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone became an instant bestseller – something that hasn’t been witnessed since the great books of Roald Dahl. Over the course of time, the Harry Potter series has sold over 450 million books around the world and been translated into 67 languages. That’s over 1.25 million words translated 67 times!!! This roaring success was also translated for the big screen as the 8 box office movies grossed $8 billion worldwide, making the Harry Potter franchise the most coveted in the world, even more successful than the James Bond and Star Wars franchises.
If you feel as though you still need Harry Potter in your life, then don’t worry. The kind people of Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida have opened a mini theme park within theirs and dedicated 20 acres to the wonderful world of Harry Potter, naming the mini theme park the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The theme park encompasses all the famous and legendary establishments featured in the movie and books such as the great Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the imaginary wizarding village of Hogsmead as well as well-known shops mentioned in the books like the wand shop, Olivanders and Zonkos, the wizarding joke shop.
I was fortunate to go to the theme park this summer and I have to say, the experience was incredible. Even though the Harry Potter storyline is based in the UK, the Americans have captured the setting beautifully – from the dark and dusty wand shop, Olivanders to the Owlery where you can post specially postmarked packages or postcards. The creators have taken a further step by making it as realistic as possible by recreating owl droppings on every single perch!
The only sour point of the theme park, like most theme parks in America, is that if you take a family like I did, your wallet will take a serious battering as it is super expensive. If you include entrance fees, food and, of course, gifts to bring back home, then this outing can cost several hundreds of dollars for one single day. One simple way of budgeting for all of these costs is to invest in a prepaid credit card which is what I did before I left for my holidays. Costs whilst you are away with the family, especially excited children can get way out of hand, particularly in a place like the Harry Potter theme park where memorabilia such as wands, broomsticks and copious amounts of pumpkin juice are a must for small children!
Prepaid cards are increasingly widespread these days as I think many people, including myself find that this is a safe way to spend money whilst abroad. There are no links to any other bank accounts so your money is protected; plus there is no way you can overspend or become overdrawn with prepaid cards as you can only spend what is loaded on the card – this is fantastic especially for holidays as costs can sometimes spiral out of control when you are having too much fun.
So here’s the deal – in order to purchase a prepaid card, the first thing you should do is shop around before you make your choice as there are lots of cards on the market, good ones as well as not so good ones. Once you have decided on a card, you can load it with money at various banks and Post Offices. Once you have loaded your card, you can spend away, remembering the fact that you can only spend what you have loaded on the card. Plus prepaid cards are accepted in most places where the MasterCard or Visa sign is displayed – the Hogs Head pub, for instance, where an ale will be needed after a stressful day with hyperactive kids!
This author is a consumer products analyst, focusing in bank cards and personal finance. He suggests downloading a free 36 page guide called the ‘Essential Guide To Your Money‘. For more information, visit the prepaid credit card website.
